Owner and general contractor, Darren Schmolke was born and raised in New Orleans. Darren’s career as a builder is the result of the success of his marine engine production business. As the business grew, so did his need for more room. Instead of hiring a builder for the expansion, Darren and his partners took it upon themselves to build their new commercial space. Darren then went on to build his own home. His skill and craftsmanship caught the eye of others and it wasn’t long before he was building and remodeling homes throughout New Orleans.

Darren is an engineer at heart, with a keen eye for design. He has a passion for creating and building and describes himself as a problem solver. Each project comes with its own challenges and Darren's ability to see and execute solutions that keep projects on schedule and on budget is a testament to his talent. Darren believes that hard work gets noticed and continuously strives to meet or exceed the expectations of his clients. A majority of his work today is for repeat customers or referrals from clients he has pleased in the past.

In 2009 Darren and his family moved to Lake Norman and he has continued to add to his diverse portfolio of building projects. Some highlights include extensive renovation/remodeling projects for NASCAR driver Kurt Busch, construction of the 20,000 square foot indoor riding arena at Lakeside Farms and Stables, the Hildebrand Library, luxury town homes in Charlotte and many custom homes both on and off Lake Norman.
